Master of horror Stephen King has been one of Trump’s toughest critics throughout his presidency, and conservatives are obtuse enough to believe that he cares about losing their support. Surely King has already amassed a fortune for his long list of successful novels and will continue to gain fans, despite his anti-Trump statements.
This week, first lady Melania Trump surprised everyone when news broke that she had undergone kidney surgery and is recovering for the remainder of the week at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. After a lackluster Mother’s Day – in which Donald failed to mention his wife or spend the day with her – Trump tweeted about a Chinese phone company instead of his wife.
He did later find the time to briefly visit her in the hospital that is located very close to the White House. Melania reportedly “underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition.”
Stephen King responded to Melania’s surgery in a tweet that has since gone viral, writing, “Not to be snarky, but Melania can probably use a week’s rest from Blabbermouth Don. Sounds heavenly to me.”

Melania’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, emphasized Melania’s wish for privacy, stating, “The First Lady is in good spirits, and she is resting. There are HIPAA laws to consider, but she also deserves personal privacy.”
Conservative Twitter is going absolutely bonkers over King’s tweet. Keep in mind, these are the same people who said they wished Harry Reid would die:
I have been a fan since Salems Lot, but not anymore. Your novels are brilliant but you as a person is rude and ignorant. No empathy, plus why don't you check out the stuff on President is accomplishing. This i

Well, I used to be a fan. Fortunately, there are plenty of other talented authors that may have a clue that some of his or her readers actually support our/your President. Not snarky, trashy!

Shame on you Mr. King!!! What about the time you spent in hospital when that van driver hit you along the side of road, back in 1999!!! Karma!!!

Wow, not a fan of Donald, but this is over the top. How about a little compassion for someone undergoing surgery. How abut keep that as an inside thought and if an outside thought is needed it is "Get Well."

You have become a real asshole since your accident that almost killed you. I really think it affected your mind in a negative way. Stick with writing books and stay away from the politics.

Stephen King you are losing what little you have left of your facilities……what happened to you? No one, of your caliber, bashed the former President or his family like this. There is dislike, but be civil my man. Red Sox fan, and former fan of yours….
